SUNDAY SCHOOL
There are three levels of teaching, from K to 12. The focus is delivering Christian education while living the Christian love.
The purpose of Sunday School in an Antiochian Orthodox Church is to educate and nurture children and adults in the Orthodox Christian faith. It provides a structured environment for learning about Holy Scripture, Church teachings, traditions, liturgical life, and the lives of the saints. Sunday School helps students grow in their relationship with Christ, develop a strong Orthodox identity, and learn how to live out their faith in daily life. Through lessons, discussions, and activities, it fosters spiritual growth, moral development, and a deeper connection to the Church community.
THE ANTIOCHIAN WOMEN ORGANIZATION
It functions through social and spiritual fellowship events. It is also the care taker of the beauty of the interior of the church including preparing the sanctuary for special services like the service of Lamentation during the great lent and the Christmas decoration etc.
Antiochian Women encompass all women of Antiochian heritage. By this definition, the first Antiochian Women stood at the foot of the Cross, remaining steadfast in their devotion to our Lord and becoming the first witnesses to His empty tomb. Alongside the Theotokos, early female leaders carried on this legacy, including Tabitha (Dorcas) (Acts 9:36), who embodied service to the poor and outreach to the broader community; Lydia (Acts 16:13), who taught the faith and tended to the needs of her parish; and Priscilla (Acts 18:18), who, alongside her husband, played a vital role in missionary work. Throughout history, Antiochian Women have established parishes, engaged in missionary efforts, and cared for the sick and needy—a ministry that continued as they brought their dedication to the shores of North America.
THE PARISH COUNCIL
The council is the administrative body of the church having the blessing of Father Joseph in every decision.
The purpose of an Antiochian Church Parish Council is to assist in the spiritual and administrative life of the parish, working in harmony with the priest to fulfill the mission of the Church. The Parish Council serves as a steward of the parish’s resources, ensuring proper management of financial, operational, and charitable activities. It supports the Church’s ministries, promotes the growth of the faith community, and upholds Orthodox Christian values in all aspects of parish life. Ultimately, the Parish Council helps maintain the well-being of the parish, fostering a Christ-centered environment for worship, education, and outreach.
